Transesterfication
- Jet Reactors (Patent pending)
What is Jet Reactors
Jet Rectors is not jet mixing. This system is very intense mixing under
pressure with different nozzle sizes.
Jet Reactors was specially developed for steel cutting (with water),and
further developed for the mining sector, specialy in the goldmine sector
on South Africa.Prof Leon Lorenzen of Stellenbosch university identify
the use of Jet Reactors for biodiesel production.Biofuelson (Org Nieuwoudt),then
took this option and tegnique a step further and developed a system
mainly for Biodiesel and also for emulsifying of liquids.
Oil and methanol does not mix, that is why a catalyst and heat is needed. So
the jet reactor can force these kinetics much faster to completion. The
jet reactor also developed its own heat on running mode. For a 1000
to 1500 lit system the heat will went up 1 degrease Celsius every
7 to 8 min. This can bring a lot of electricity savings to the sysem. We
started at 40 to 45 Degrease on stage one, shut down all elements and
after one hour mixing the temp will be around 52 Degreas. This is one
hour saving on electricity. Then stop drain the glycerol, add the second
stage methoxcide. The heat will then be down to 45 degrease (heat loss). We
mix an hour again and the heat went up to 52 Degrease again ,pump
out to settling tank. This is another hour without elements. This system
allow in warmer places to preheat with help of the sun and very little
electricity to 45 degrease, from there no heat is needed.

Jet reactor(green) connected to high pressure pump.
Jet reactor build for a farmer to produce biodiesel. On top the ultrasound
for the best combination of entense mixing and cavitastion bubbles
for faster mass transfer.
This reactor can handle 500 lit/hour up to 2000 lit/hour.(Patent pending)
